Smallest Mobile Camper: Levi Kelly’s Tiny Home on Wheels

Imagine living in a home so small it fits in the back of a pickup truck, yet it’s got everything you need for a weekend adventure. That’s exactly what YouTuber and tiny house enthusiast Levi Kelly has pulled off with his latest project, a super compact, smallest mobile camper he’s dubbed the “world’s smallest mobile tiny house.”

This isn’t just a cramped box on wheels; it’s a cleverly designed space that’s got a bed, a kitchen, and even a bathroom, all squeezed into a jaw-dropping 21 square feet. Check out more tiny houses with wheels.

Tiny but Mighty: The Design

Levi started with a 1998 Honda Acty, a pint-sized Japanese 4×4 pickup truck, and gave it a fresh military-green paint job to match its rugged vibe. The truck itself is mostly unchanged, but the custom camper shell is where the magic happens.

Built with a lightweight wooden frame, foam insulation, and sturdy exterior panels, it’s designed to stay under the truck’s 800-pound weight limit. A solar panel on the roof, reachable by a side ladder, powers the whole setup, with a battery tucked inside for extra juice.

Every inch of the single, versatile area within counts. One particularly noteworthy feature of the kitchen is a sink and faucet that deftly pumps water from a bottle into another container close by. Wastewater runs into another container here.

Along with a portable hotplate for cooking, there is storage for basics and a little alcohol-burning burner for warmth. Because a fan keeps the air fresh, the small room feels more like a comfortable nook than like a closet.

Sleeping and Showering in Style

When it’s time to sleep, the countertop lifts to reveal a hidden bed, complete with a pillow. At 5’10”, Levi fits comfortably, though anyone taller might feel a bit squeezed. The bathroom setup is just as creative. Need a shower? Just plug the showerhead into the kitchen tap, pass it through the window, and hook it up outside for a quick rinse under the stars.

For bathroom breaks, a camping-style flush toilet is tucked into a storage unit, and a small bubble window adds light and just enough headroom to sit comfortably.

Levi’s micro-camper may be small, but its inventiveness is very great. Perfect for a weekend trip or a daring experiment in minimalist living, it’s evidence that with a little imagination you can live big in the smallest of spaces.
